What is the BankVic App?
The BankVic App is a free user-friendly interface which provides real-time access to banking functionality including live balances, bill payments, and ‘Pay Anyone’ service via a mobile phone or tablet device. The BankVic app provides an accessible and convenient tool for banking on the go.
Do I have to register for Internet banking to use the BankVic App?
Yes, before you can download the App you must first have registered for Internet banking.
Who can download the BankVic App?
Anyone with access to an app store can download the App but you’ll need to be a member of BankVic and be registered for Internet banking in order to log-in and accept the Terms & Conditions.
Do I need to register for the BankVic App?
Yes, you must be an existing Internet banking user. Simply enter your Internet banking log in details after downloading and opening the app.
Note: the terms and conditions must first be accepted before you can continue.
What accounts can I access with the BankVic App compared to Mobile banking?
All accounts and features available on Mobile banking are available on the BankVic App.
What are the features of the BankVic App?
If the 4-digit passcode is optional with the BankVic App, what are the benefits of having it?
The 4-digit passcode feature offers convenience and time savings as it eliminates the need to enter your username and password to access your banking.
Will the same passcode work on separate devices?
Yes, the same passcode can be used for different devices but the BankVic App must be downloaded to each device and registered separately.
How do I close the BankVic App?
After you have logged off from your session (see above question "How do I log off from the App"), you can close the App by following these steps:
Does the BankVic App timeout?
For your convenience, our App provides you with an option to display your savings account balance without the need to log in. You can choose to disable this feature in Settings. Our App is secure and requires you to enter your internet banking password if you wish to perform any transactions (eg: funds transfer, bill payments, etc).
To protect your online security, the session will automatically timeout after a period of inactivity if you forget to log off from your App.
How do I change my 4-digit passcode?
The ‘settings’ feature located on the bottom navigation bar of the app home screen can be used to change your 4-digit passcode.
How do I remove the BankVic App?
I forgot my 4-digit passcode - how do I reset it?
Call us on 13 63 73 to reset your passcode.
You can reset your 4-digit passcode by first removing the App on your mobile device (see above question "How do I remove the BankVic App?”). After removing the App, you can download a new version of the BankVic App from the app store. This will allow you to re-register for the App using your internet banking password to select a new 4-digit passcode.
Note: if you've entered your 4-digit passcode incorrectly for 4 times, your online banking account will be locked for security reasons. See next question for how to unlock your account.
Why am I getting a message to contact Service & Sales after attempting to log in?
If you’ve entered your 4-digit passcode incorrectly for 4 times, your online banking account will be locked for security reasons. You'll need to call 13 63 73 option 3 during business hours (8am - 5pm, Mon to Fri) to get it unlocked.
I’m having trouble finding the BankVic App using my iPad, how do I find it?
The BankVic App can be downloaded to an iPad, but only as an iPhone app. Please search under the iPhone apps in the iTunes Store.
I'm a new member and/or have just registered for online banking – can I download and start using the App right away?
No. As a new member and/or online banking user, you'll first need to log in to internet banking or mobile banking to change the temporary password you were given. After you’ve changed your password, you can download and register the App to start using it.
My partner and I share the same iPad. Can we have a BankVic App for each of us on the same device?
No, only one BankVic App per device is permitted.
Can I use BankVic App while I’m overseas?
Yes, the BankVic App can be used overseas provided the device is connected to the Internet. Please remember, whilst overseas you may be charged for your device use by your telecommunication provider.
What mobile operating systems is the BankVic App compatible with?
The BankVic App will run on the majority of mobile smartphone devices as long as they’re supported by any of the following operating systems:
Can I register more than one App?
Yes. Up to eight devices can be registered for each member. Once this limit is reached you must contact Service & Sales on 13 63 73 and a staff member will be able to deregister any unused devices.
Can I pay a bill using the BankVic App?
Yes, a BPAY button is available on the welcome screen.
What keywords should I use to find the BankVic App in-store?
Do I have to pay anything to use the BankVic App?
No, the BankVic App is free to members. However fees may apply to your transactions – see the Product Disclosure Statement for your accounts. Please remember, whilst overseas you may be charged for your device use by your telecommunication provider.
Is the BankVic App secure?
Yes, the BankVic App has the same protection as Mobile banking, PayAnyone and Internet banking.
What if I lose my device or it’s stolen?
Contact BankVic immediately to deregister the device from Internet banking.
What do I need to do to de-register the BankVic App?
Simply call Service & Sales during business hours on 13 63 73 and the App can be de-registered.
We do not charge a fee for using the BankVic App. However, mobile internet and phone provider data access charges may apply. For further information regarding data access charges, please contact your mobile service provider.
