**Update: The Funeral Service for Mr Kelly will be held at the Victoria Police Academy Chapel at 11am, Friday 28th December 2018.
BankVic is deeply saddened by the passing of founder and former Victorian Police Chief Inspector, Mr Bryan Kelly.
Bryan’s deep commitment to the financial wellbeing of fellow Victorian Police members and their families led to the establishment of the Police Credit Co-operative. From 1974 to 1984, Bryan was the founding Chairman and continued to serve as a Co-op Director until 1994.
From those early humble beginnings in a small converted storeroom in the Police Association building, Bryan’s legacy has grown into a financial institution that today services the needs of over 110,000 Victorian police, health, emergency and public service members.
In 1980, Bryan was formally recognised for his outstanding dedication and contribution to the welfare of police families and awarded the prestigious Queen’s Police Medal.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Bryan’s family and the Victorian Police community. His passion and energy will be sorely missed.
Vale - Peg Kelly
Further to our post on Tuesday of this week regarding the passing of BankVic’s inaugural Chair - Inspector Bryan Kelly QPM (retired), sadly we advise that Bryan’s wife, Peg Kelly (aged 86) passed away peacefully at the Alfred Hospital at 5.15 p.m. yesterday. Peg had been suffering from a long term health issue for some time.
Our thoughts are with all members of the Kelly family as they mourn the passing of both Bryan and Peg.
They will be remembered.
