How to avoid rejected transactions

We have developed some handy hints to help avoid payments to your BankVic account rejecting.

Set up a PayID

How do I create my PayID through the BankVic mobile banking app?

Note: if you can’t see these, then you may need to update your app from the store.

  1. From the app home screen, select TRANSFERS
    Transfers button

  2. Select PayID
    PayID button

  3. Select ADD NEW (or tap the '+' on Android)
  4. On the Add New PayID screen:
    1. Nominate the phone number or email address you’d like to use as your PayID
    2. Choose the account you would like associated with this PayID
    3. Hit CONFIRM to finish creating your PayID
  5. Accept the Terms and Conditions
  6. Request a verification code – this will be sent to the mobile phone number or email address you’ve chosen to use as your PayID.
  7. Enter verification code in the field provided.
  8. Your new PayID has now been created!

Use the BankVic BSB and account number

Transfer funds between accounts using theBankVic BSB and your 9 digit account number:

Login to internet banking

2.       

Go to payments >transferring money

3.     

Choose pay new and then enter the BSB and bankaccount details of the person you want to pay.

What is the difference between my internal account number and my external account number?

Your internal account number is your member number and is to be only used when making transfers from one BankVic account to another BankVic account. Your external account number is used when making transfers from accounts at other financial institutions to your BankVic account.

What is the difference between my member number and my account number?

Your member number is used to login to internet BankVic or used to identify you when visit a branch or call our contact centre. Your account number is a 9 digit number for each account you hold and will always begin with 100.

Is PayID secure?

Yes, the same level of security that protects your standard bank account payments will also protect your PayID payments.

How do I know payments to my accounts have been rejected?

If you have transferred funds from your own account at another bank to your account at BankVic, then you would have seen the reversal of the funds back into your account. If a payer has transferred funds to your BankVic account and they have rejected, you will need to contact the payer.

What is the difference between an Osko transfer and a standard transfer?

An Osko transfer goes through in minutes where a standard transfer can take up to 3 business days.

You will need to contact the payer and ask them to make the payment again using either your Pay ID or BSB and account number.
