Security advice - ATM skimming

Card skimming is an illegal act where criminals steal account information from account holders. Through an ATM or eftpos device and from a Visa card's magnetic stripe, card details are transferred to a counterfeit card for fraudulent use. The skimmers place a device, a fake card slot over the original ATM card slot, that reads the magnetic strip on the card. They sometimes place digital cameras in the vicinity to record people when entering their PIN.

Preventing ATM skimming

If you believe the ATM you're about to use has been tampered with in any way, do not use the ATM.
When typing your PIN number into an ATM, use your hand to cover or shield any view of what you are entering.
Check your statements regularly for any unauthorised transactions and if you believe you're the victim of fraud, please contact us immediately. It's important that you let us know as soon as possible, as a delay in letting us know may result in your incurring liability for the unauthorised transactions.

We monitor all Visa card transactions for unusual or suspicious activity - even when you're shopping overseas or online.

Verified by Visa (VbV)

As you make a purchase online using your Visa card, VbV assesses the risk of the transaction based on a number of factors. You may be asked to confirm some personal details such as:

Name (embossed card name)
Date of birth
Postcode (residential address)
Member Number

Unidentified or suspicious transactions

If you do not recognise a card transaction you should immediately notify us by calling Service & Sales on 13 63 73 (8am-7pm, Monday to Friday, 9am-12noon, Saturday). If overseas, call +613 9268 9373. It is important that you let us know as soon as possible, as a delay in letting us know may result in further losses and your incurring liability for the unauthorised transactions. The card terms and conditions also explain how to report a suspicious or unauthorised transactions and liability in the event of loss.

You can make Visa debit card ATM and eftpos transactions from either your Anywhere, Multipack or EzePac account.

If you have a line of credit or an overdraft with your Multipack account, you can access credit with your debit card.
